A small family with real Gammalsau is out hiking along the Sognefjord

In the middle of the barren Norwegian coastal landscape, surrounded by muted earth tones and a calm atmosphere, a small flock of old sheep stand, observing the world with curious, deep gazes. Wool-clad and weather-beaten, as if they carry centuries of Norwegian farm history in their curly coats, they stand close together, a close-knit family in the wind from the fjord.

Each has their own personality etched into their gaze – the calm matriarch in the middle, the cautious explorer on the side, and the younger, more adventurous ones behind. Their horns gracefully curve upwards, like little chronicles of the passage of time, while their hooves rest on the dry grass, where winter has not yet fully taken hold.

The sky above them is heavy and low, a contrast to the rich, warm wool that covers their bodies. They stand there like living paintings, shaped by nature, by weather and wind, and by generations of adaptation to the wild and beautiful surroundings along the Sognefjord.

In this moment, they look us straight into the soul – calm, proud and deeply rooted in the landscape they belong to. A small family of Norwegian cultural history, immortalized in nature's own scenography.
